Definitely not the cutest picture of me, ha ha! 22 weeks 2 days
While I was in my first trimester if you asked me how I was feeling... I was feeling pretty darn good! I knew I had it better than most, I wasn't experiencing any nausea. But looking back? I'm so glad I'm out of that stage when it comes to food! I had major food aversions. I'm pretty sure the only things I craved during those first 3 months was steak (apparently my body needed whatever the red meat had to offer) and Dr. Pepper. I have craved Dr. Pepper since day 1 :) I had to start my day out with a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats cereal. Not because I was craving it, but that would kind of sooth my belly. Which sounds weird because I didn't have nausea, but that's the only way I can describe why I felt the need to eat it. And I ate more peanut butter and honey sandwiches during the 1st trimester than I have my whole life! Other than that, the only things I could make myself eat were fresh fruits and veggies. And that was incredibly difficult because textures really got to me!
Now that I'm well into my second trimester? Everything is pretty much back to normal! I can eat anything and the idea of food doesn't gross me out at all... phew! I have a horrible sweet tooth and it doesn't take much more than a glimpse of a picture to trigger a craving but I never indulge right then. If I'm still thinking about it days later then I'll enjoy the treat. I still crave Dr. Pepper daily (but I rarely drink it). I crave red meat 1-2 times a week. I am still loving honey! I always have oranges in the fridge, which has never happened before! And I crave cupcakes daily. The weird thing for me has been my love for cereal. I usually have 2 bowls a day! My pantry seriously has 20 different boxes of cereal to choose from, it's just ridiculous! But I can't stop eating it, ha ha. Other than that, I haven't experienced any bizarre cravings! I'm just loving having my love for food back... a little too much if you know what I mean ;)

It was all about cereal and salads in beginning for me...but now it's any food in sight, or on commercials, that I want to inhale. Your bump is so cute and tiny, definitely not like mine then, or now...I popped fast! Enjoy every moment of the tiny days...I'm 31 weeks tomorrow and I havent' seen my feet standing up in a longgg time! ;)
So cute. I love seeing the cravings. Have you ever craved any weird stuff like soap or clay? I have seen shows where women say that they just eat soap because their body is deficient in whatever is in the soap. So weird.
I had fruit cravings during the first few months. Like serious fruit cravings. I'm talking if it tasted like fruit, I wanted it. This included Starbursts.
I eventually ended up with a major headache that I thought was going to kill me, and my fruit cravings stopped after that. But it was the weirdest thing. I can honestly say that it was the only craving I really had when I was pregnant.
Gah! Your little bump is so tiny! Love it :)
Ohhhh Dr Pepper. We don't have that here *sad*...but probably best, because I would want an IV!
The weirdest thing I have craved is tomato soup at 4:30 one morning. So much that I had to get out of bed and make it from scratch because we didn't have any canned. It was soooo good!
I totally understand about your love for food. I never thought I would have an appetite again after morning sickness. Blah!
you are adorable!!! and haha, i loooove bunches of oats!
Glad to hear food loving is back, food aversions are no fun! & all of your cravings sound pretty healthy so you are lucky!
Dr Pepper ......I think I have an addiction to it.
I'm glad your food aversions are over and you are feeling pretty much back to normal food wise.
You look adorableeee! :) All your pics are always good girl! I don't know how I'll stay away from pop whenever I'm pregnant. Mt Dew owns meeee
You look darling! And oh my goodness! ha I crave cereal like no other. it must be a pregnancy thing! 22 weeks girl! your getting there! yay!!
That's the one thing I'm wondering about when I get pregnant. I am a VERY picky eater and with everyone's stories I bet I crave stuff I don't eat now. It shall be interesting!
I LOVED cereal and milk during both of my pregnancies! LOVED it (and now, still do! :)
You are absolutely ADORABLE!!!!!
You're very lucky that you missed the first trimester nausea, that was the worst part for me and I had a lot of food aversions. I hated chicken my entire pregnancy. Loved cereal though :)
I experience the same cereal cravings, & I am not even pregnant! Sad? hah! B & I eat a bowl every night!! Heck, the boy can/will a whole box at one sitting. Seriously! hahah! You look GREAT!
SERIOUS girl!!! Your boobs are getting huge! haha! Maybe we can trade for a day ;)
You look adorable!
Your belly is so little and cute! :) && I could eat cupcakes all day, every day. (and I'm not pregnant) have an awesome evening! XO
My first trimester and pretty much all my second, I almost had a hot dog every single day. I have no idea why because I really don't like hot dogs that much. haha
And pizza. Oh my word. I could have eaten pizza every single dinner... Mmmmm
psh, I eat that much cereal and I'm definitely NOT preggers, so hopefully that makes you feel a little better !
You are so cute! I am definitely craving "real food" like chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, mexican, etc. No sweets!
What an adorable way to show your pregnancy! So cute!
I LOVE reading your pregnancy updates Courtney. I am craving oranges too which is really unusual for me.
You are looking so healthy and gorgeous and your baby bump is just so cute.
I know you must HATE when people (especially those who have never even been pregnant) try to tell you what you should do...but I've always heard that honey is forbidden for pregnant ladies. Something about the bacteria in it the baby doesn't have an immune system for or something. I even have a cookbook that has some recipes including honey and it has a warning in each one that pregnant women should not consume honey. I'm sure women have been doing it since the beginning of time and it's not really that big a deal (I think they keep adding things to the list of what pregnant women can't do to deter teen pregnancies! ha!). But anyway, I just had to share. Have you heard anything about that? Oh...and I crave sweets every day, too! haha! I hope when I'm pregnant I don't let it rule me. I fear I will use my pregnancies as an excuse to eat whatever I feel like.
Okay--follow-up comment...I just googled it and am seeing mixed reviews. It seems that it's more of a just in case type thing. It's b/c of botulism and babies cannot break down the bacteria. However your digestive system should break it down before it gets to the baby so it should probably be fine. I apologize for saying anything, it's just something I have heard a lot about lately. My best friend had a baby last year and I feel like her doctor strictly forbade her from eating a lot more things than most women who are pregnant. Clearly you are very healthy and your doctor would tell you if you needed to avoid something. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I double checked those facts! This is educational for me, too! :)
I never had any cravings or aversions - but I had the worst swamp mouth when I had anything sweet - especially lemonade. Are you suffering from that?
I have never been pregnant but I would totally eat everything in sight!
