Disneyland + Halloween = adorable!

3 years ago, sometime in October, Eric and I went to Disneyland with my family. We had such a fun time despite the hotel accommodations! You see, we figured we'd get the best deal by booking a suite. Eric and I would have our own bedroom, my parents would have their own bedroom, and my brothers could... well I didn't really care what my brothers did as long as I got my own room with the hubs haha. But the suites in California (at least the hotels by Disneyland) are unlike any other. They pretty much scrunch a crappy couch with a pull out bed into a normal sized hotel room and call it a suite. I'm not even kidding. Imagine our surprise as we walked into an ordinary hotel room, besides the fact that there was no room to walk around, and found out that we were practically sleeping on top of my brothers. GAH! And on the crappy pull out bed no less!
My dad went right down to the desk to get them to switch our room and they pretty much told him tough luck! Ah, I was so mad! They did move us to a different room that was bigger, but we still got stuck on the crappy pull out bed, and a curtain to separate me and Eric from my family. I'm really not kidding. It's safe to say that those 5 nights were some of the longest of my life :) I love my family... but the next time we go on vacation together I'm booking a separate room no matter what! No more suites for me :)
While I'm reminiscing I'll share some pictures from the trip. Disneyland is even more adorable at Halloween time! Oh and those of you who asked to see pictures of my short hair (from this post), I have short hair in these pictures :)

The only reason Eric wasn't pulling the same face as my brother's in these pictures is because 1. we were still cute newly weds and 2. he was still sucking up to my mom. Now that he's got her wrapped around his finger he has her agreeing with him that I take too many pictures. Puhleeease!

Like I said, we had SO much fun on this trip but I was just so ready to have my privacy back as well as a break from Disneyland. We swore we weren't going back until we have kids but Eric and I are just dying to go back! Hopefully within the next year... maybe 2 :) I'd really like to see Disneyland all decorated for Christmas!

I often feel like my year is 12 weeks shorter than everyone else. I have tried to explain to Eric that when I go to St George to work it feels like my life is put on hold, or paused, and when I get back home everything continues as if I'd never left. Lately this has become a problem. I am having a hard time intertwining my crazy work week with the rest of my life.
You see... I forgot my best friends birthday. Well, I didn't forget... I just didn't realize her day came and went. And I still feel horrible about it. I'm just pissed that I let myself only think about work and nothing else, or whatever it is that's causing my brain to NOT register that life goes on outside of my work bubble. I'm not sure I'll ever be a full time working mama, I'd probably forget I had kids and they would starve to death. Or something :)

Anyway, I feel so horrible that I missed Jaicee's birthday. I have a lot of girls that I consider to be my bestie's but Jaicee has been there for me through it all. Literally. Hair school (oh the drama!), heart break (lots of heart break), finding love (my ever lasting love haha), moving (she saved my sanity), and everything in between. If I could have grown up with a sister... I would've wanted her to be Jaicee :) She truly is amazing and the BEST best friend a girl could ask for! So here's that birthday shout out she deserves... a whole week late. #horriblefriend

Here's to me figuring out how to mesh my work life with everything else, making her missed birthday the best one ever :), and being bestie's for life (if I'm forgiven that is.. ha!) Can you make new years goals so close to the year coming to an end?? Oh and definitely pictures, morrre pictures! This girl likes being in front of the camera about as much as Eric does...

a blate + krave

My week of work in St George consists mainly of... well... work! :) But I do find a little bit of time to play and have a blate! That's right people... I met my first ever bloggy friend in real life :) And I'm happy I did! To be honest, this was what I thought to be the unlikeliest friendship ever. But I daresay Denise and I will be friends for a long time.

We did everything together, from movies to games, dinner to frozen yogurt, and don't forget talking. We did lots and lots of talking :)

We were bummed to miss the Utah blogger party (I can't believe they didn't change the date just for me... ha! I kid!) but I'm glad we made our own fun! Go get to know Denise here.

Speaking of frozen yogurt, if you ever make it St George you must stop at Krave. And call me if you go ;) I love it so much, and I have the bum to prove it! (Or is it carbs that go straight to the behind? Either way I've still got proof!) I met up with my bestie and little bestie and had to take some pictures.

Makin' sure she gets it all in that little mouth.. haha!

I miss these two everyday! I can't wait until they move up here (woo hoo!) and my little bestie can keep me company on those awful, miserable, depressing winter days! Hearing, "Courtney, Courtney, Courtney!" over and over again just because she can say my name makes me happier than I ever could have imagine! Good grief, I need a child or something. But only if she's as cute as Lily! :)
