just some randoms {29}

I took an accidental blog break the last couple of days when our computer locked us out after an update... I'm just one of those bloggers who NEVER have drafts written ahead of time so I had to wait until we got it back, oops! I'm happy to be back and you can bet that I still won't write up multiple posts to have them sitting in my drafts ;)

I was so happy with how the photos turned out to announce our news of baby brother! It's a dang good thing they turned out becaaaaause this balloon was the biggest pain EVER! While ordering this 36" balloon, it never really registered with my pregnancy muddle brain just how BIG 36" would be, ha ha! To give you an idea aside from the pictures... I could not fit this balloon in my Jeep Grand Cherokee, not even through the back! Luckily the grocery store (that made a pretty penny off of me for the helium) was located just across the street from where I was planning on taking pictures, so I loaded Mia in the stroller, tied the balloon to it and made the trek over. You can imagine the looks I got from everyone along the way, ha ha! But getting home was awful... I couldn't bring myself to just let all that money, I mean helium, float to the sky so I drove home with this HUGE balloon hanging out the window. I can laugh at it now (especially when I think of how crazy I must have looked) but I wasn't in the happiest of moods when I was actually having to deal with this HUGE balloon :) Mia, on the other hand, thought it was AWESOME!

I think Mia's going to start demanding a sleep mask once she discovers those as she gets older, ha ha! We always have to tuck her taggie over her eyes while tucking her in for nap/bed! And she always finds a way to cuddle with Mickey or Minnie throughout her sleep :)

I can't resist sharing this. I snapped around 5 photos in a row and silly Mia's face is different in every single one (and Eric's got much happier towards the end) but I died when I saw the first one! They are pulling the exact same face! These two are so much alike without even trying, it's terrifying (to me), ha ha!

Mia is such a little fishy and I love it! It's been so fun to watch her independence in the water grow (with her floaty on, of course) now that she's getting the hang of kicking her legs and "scooping" her arms thanks to swim lessons! It's a good thing we love the water so much because we will be living in the pool all summer long!

I know I already shared a photo or two of Mia loving on her baby, but these photos melt me! Especially since this was totally unprompted. I told her she could sit in the rocking chair with her baby for the pictures and she did all the loving, hugging and kissing on her own! Best big sis in training, ever!!

I was laughing thinking about you with that big old balloon hanging out of your car and all of the funny looks you must have gotten haha. At least it was worth it because the pictures came out fabulous!
I hope you and your little fishy have a good weekend!! :)

The balloon LOL! So funny. I love that Mia likes to wear her taggy blanket over her eyes, she's so funny. You guys are just living it up in AZ at the pool, eh? I want to come visit!! It's been so cold her ;)

Oh my gosh! DYING over your balloon story!!! I'm so glad it all worked out but man that must have been a fun ride home! Hope it didn't involve the freeway! Also wondering... how did Mia not fly away with that HUGE balloon tied to her!? Must not have been a windy day :)
PS I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee too. Love that car!
PPS I have a million unfinished drafts sitting in my draft folder (because apparently I'm really good at half thoughts lol) so if my computer died... I'd be screwed until I got it back too!

I love that balloon! I think balloons are the cutest idea for baby/gender announcements, engagement pictures, etc. and now you have a hilarious story to go with the great pictures! Mia really does look like Eric! It's crazy! Maybe your boy will be your little doppelganger!

That IS a BIG balloon! We took Hallie's bday pics this week and I lugged a HUGE bunch of balloons in the back of my car not one but 2 days in a row! I ended up spending $30 on balloons!

That would totally be me too with the balloon! I'm so cheap. My laptop broke last year and while I was waiting on a new one I had to use the "blogger" app on my phone. It was horrible!! Glad you got yours fixed. I missed your posts:)

bahahaha at the balloon. I sort of did that once. I wanted a bunch of balloons for something and I ordered a ton before realizing they would not fit in our car. I had to get my gma's minivan. Hanging out the window though, now that is a site.

The balloon hassle was totally worth it! The photo turned out great. I never actually put thought into the details of having a balloon that big. At first I thought "couldn't you just blow it up when you get there?" Except we don't exhale helium. Duh Evelina.

I've always wondered about those big balloons and how people transport them and how they get them filled and stuff :) And helium is expensive now and days, so glad that it worked out and that Mia is loving the giant sized balloon!

That's so cute she covers her eyes when she sleeps!!! I'd think most kids would be too afraid of the dark to do that!

Oh that silly face is just the sweetest.

I RARELY ever have drafts sitting read to publish.... unless it is a Sunday eve. I TRY to have most of my posts for the week wrote on the weekend. It just helps our week days to go better since the kids are older and don't take naps.
