telling our parents the big news!

I wanted to wait until Mother's Day to tell our families about the baby but we were in Hawaii on Mother's Day (I wouldn't mind spending every mother's day that way!) So we told our families the week before! I called my parents and told them we'd come visit Sunday, after church to celebrate Mother's Day a week early. My dad cooked an amazing meal to celebrate, steak and crab legs, YUM! After dinner we had my mom open her gift!

I'm really not in trouble... I just took too long to snap the picture so they stopped smiling!

I found a poem online and scrapbooked that and stuck it in a frame. It was SO fun to watch their faces when they caught on to the fact that I was announcing the pregnancy! My parents just laughed and laughed :) I really wanted to find obnoxious/funny first-time grandparents shirts but I couldn't find anything online! These mugs are really cute but I was hoping for something funnier. Oh well! My parents are SO excited to finally be grandparents :) In fact! My dad said that if he knew this is what we were coming down for, he would have bought more crab legs... ha ha!
We went to the Brinkerhoff's home the very next day to share the news! Unfortunately, I think mom Brinkerhoff totally suspected something because we normally wouldn't have come to celebrate mother's day early, and I pulled out the camera when she was opening the gift. (My parents are used to having an annoying daughter and daughter in law (except Alycia's not annoying, ha ha) for bloggers. The camera is always out!) Plus, I picked the worse seat in the house so I didn't get good pictures... :(

LaNita laughed and told me, "I KNEW it!" But like I said before... I had the worse seat in the house so I wasn't able to see Guy's reaction. But Eric was sitting right next to him and said that he teared up :) So sweet! Since they already have grandkids I found a super cute decorative sign that says Making Memories at Grandma and Grandpa's. I wish I would have taken a picture of that! I thought it was way cute, so I hope they like it!
We kept the secret for almost 3 weeks before telling our families! I am so proud of us because I think we did an amazing job of not hinting a thing :) But I'm so glad the secret is out! It's way more fun talking about it with everyone! Our baby has the BEST grandparents ever.
