So many waterfalls and beautiful landscaping!
Hamoa beach
Coming down from Hana. You can see the lush landscaping turning into the desert.
As you can see... we got to see multiple waterfalls off the road to Hana. Most of them were just a few feet off the road. It was seriously gorgeous there!
Just after we passed through the town, Hana, we stopped to play at Hamoa beach. They say it offers the best body surfing on the island of Maui. It was also a black sand beach, the first one I've ever been to! It was incredibly hot but such a beautiful spot! I didn't take one camera with me and I'm SO mad! I think it was the prettiest beach we went to in Maui!
The drive home seemed sooooo long. Like SO long, ha ha. But it was kind of cool to see the landscaping change from the luscious rain forest to total desert! There were parts of Maui that look exactly like my hometown. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, not much can grow over lava rock! But if my hometown could have the gorgeous blue ocean right next to the desert it would be perfect :)
I am so glad I decided to brave the chance of getting motion sick and got to experience the road to Hana!

It's hard to see Hamoa beach from your pictures. Hopefully you did go down and not just took those pictures from up on the road. Dr. Beach just named it #5 in the nation and it will be #1 soon enough.
