ringin' in 2015

Between Eric having to work, and Mia coming down with the stomach flu (heart. breaking.) there's really not much to talk about from our weekend. So I thought I'd share how we rang in the New Year!
Our fun started Tuesday night when we got a babysitter (woo woo!) and went on a double date! We didn't do anything too special... ice skating was ruled out due to the "feels like -2 outside" and a hangry husband (of course that would be my husband, ha!) so we went out to Hibatchi! From there we tried to go bowling, but of course every single middle/high schooler took over the bowling alley so we went for ice cream instead! It was just nice to be out with another couple and not have to worry about our girls! This was seriously our first double date (without kids) since Mia was born and we definitely need more of these in our life. And more sequin pants. Because I'm obsessed ;)
New Years Eve was super low key. Besides going out for lunch, we spent our day/night at home, just the 3 of us, and it couldn't have been more perfect! Despite the frigid temperature, we played in the snow with Mia and she LOVED it! The snow definitely wasn't packable but Eric made sure to make Mia her first ever, teeny, tiny snow man! We made snow angels, had a snow ball fight (that really ended up as more of a tackle fest between Eric and me, HA!) and just stomped around in the snow. Eric and I were freezing but each time we asked Mia if she wanted to go inside for some hot chocolate, she said no! She definitely doesn't get her love for winter from me ;) Eric made dinner (score!) while we sipped hot chocolate, we put Mia down at her normal bed time (sorry, kid. I hope you don't find out about staying up 'til midnight until you're... 16?) and Eric and I settled down with some treats and Netflix. The last thing I remember was looking at my phone at 11:24... I'm weak!! ha ha! But Eric and I broke out the sparkling cider and New Year Kisses around 9pm, knowing we (as in I) wouldn't make it until midnight. Cheers to 2015!

And YAY for playing in the snow! We don't get snow here and I am too weak to go to the snow because I would freeze my butt off, but it always looks so fun when I see others doing it and I am always so jealous! Glad you have a little snow lover on your hands :) she's one cute snow bunny!

Mia is such a cutie and it looks like she is having a blast! That tiny little snowman is adorable. Confession - I've never made a snowman before. Sad, I know. Sounds like the perfect NYE though. I fell asleep at 11:30 too! Hope everyone is feeling better today.

You know, one of the most freeing feelings in the world once you become a mom is being able to eat out in public without a toddler at the side of the table. It's really glorious. Kevin and I indulged in a lunch date one day over the holiday while Harper was at daycare and it was so nice yet so odd. Glad you guys enjoyed it! (: Hope everyone is feeling much better now!

I can't decide which I'm more obsessed with... your sequin pants or Mia's winter suit... either way, you guys are the cutest! Ice cream beats -2 EVERY TIME!
