29 weeks

picture taken at 29 weeks.... right on time for once :)

- The exhaustion is back and it hit me like a ton of bricks this last week! I don't know if it's because I'm babysitting and I'm busy before the sun comes up until long after it's gone down... but it's killing me! I want the 2nd trimester energy back :)

- I have heartburn almost every day. So fun.

- I'm still going to spin classes 2-3 times a week and trying to do other little exercises in between. It's been hard to be motivated with the extreme exhaustion though.

- Baby girl has permanently made the left side of my ribs her home... or punching/kicking bag. I finally discovered that's the reason for my daily rib pain! Little stinker :)

- We have baby girl's crib and dresser set up! Those are the only things we have for her nursery so far. In fact... those are the only things we've bought! Other than a few adorable gifts from sweet friends, baby girl really hasn't got much to her name. We need to work on that! I can't keep up with how quickly time is flying!!

- This week marks the start of our deep cleaning! Or should I say.... it marks the start for Eric to start deep cleaning? Ha ha! I plan on helping him but I'm out of town babysitting kids for now ;) It's all just hitting me this week that we need to kick our rears in gear and get ready for baby girl to take over our world!

- Since I'm out of town, Eric and I have been talking on the phone each night and one night he was missing baby girl so he asked me to hold the phone up to my belly. I turned the volume all the way up and he just kind of rambled to her and guess what? I felt my belly go rock hard right underneath the phone. She totally scooted as close to the phone as she could because she heard his voice! It's crazy how much those two have bonded!! (I know that story sounds crazy... but it's so true!)

- We love baby girl so much!! We can't wait to meet her... but obviously we have a few things to get in order before we want her to make her arrival :)

weekend review

Cotton candy and a texas twister lemonade... what more could a kid want (including me and the hubs because we definitely haven't grown up, ha)?
Car show time!
Is there anything better? LOVE Cafe Rio!

Want to know what I've been up to this past week and a half? Babysitting! And I've been having the best time doing it :) (Thank heavens these kids are angels... the last thing I need is birth control considering I'm already knocked up.... ha ha!) Life has been hectic with me working at the salon while the kids are school, homework, sports and other after school activities, meals, etc. But Saturday we had a free day and Eric even got to come hangout with us! I thought it would be fun to go to Swiss Days and indulge in some junk food (but somehow I only got a few sips of the Texas twister lemonade and that's it. How do I always miss out on the junk food at these events?) and go to the car show. 2 car shows, 2 weeks in a row.... Eric is a lucky man! We ended the day with Cafe Rio and I was a happy girl! It really couldn't have been a more perfect day. Actually..... if it had been 15 degrees cooler it would've been absolutely perfect :) Almost 7 1/2 months pregnant and almost 100 degree weather doesn't quite mix. But I was so happy to be able to spend the day with my hubs and the kids. I'm just feeling so happy and blessed these days!

P.S. One more week of this crazy, hectic schedule then I will be back, blog land! I miss you all and can't wait to catch up on your blogs!

it's about time...

I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of October! I love this time of year.... the cooler weather, the changing leaves, the anticipation of the holidays and all good things to come! And this time of year is even more special to me than in years past. Our baby girl will be making her way into this world in December, and the holidays will help pass the time that much faster! Could there be a more perfect time to celebrate new life? I think not!
I have been feeling so grateful for all the blessings in my life lately. It's so easy to let the hard times get me down and hang on to those negative feelings but I'm choosing to focus on the positive because I am so blessed. I could not be more in love with my sweet husband! He's been my rock through our good and bad times and I'm so lucky to share these experiences with him. It just melts my heart to see how much he loves baby girl already, and how much more he appreciates me through our pregnancy journey! I am the luckiest!
We have a fun month ahead of us and I can't wait to share the fun times on my blog. I'm so thankful for all of our amazing friends and family who are going to make this month the best one yet! And I'm thankful for all of my sweet friends I've made in blog land! You all make life so much more exciting as I share our stories, the exciting and boring ones :) This post is kind of all over the place but I guess I just want to say that I couldn't be happier that October is here! And I'm so thankful for how good my life really is.

28 weeks {a name for baby girl}

picture taken at 28 weeks 1 day

Don't mind my comfy outfit... I figured since I've made it to the third trimester, why bother getting dressed up anymore? Ha ha, I'm kidding! I promise I still try to look cute. I just kind of forgot to change for this picture :)
So I've been getting the same question a lot lately... do we have a name picked out for baby girl?? We're pretty sure we've got her name picked BUT we won't be sharing it until she is born. I have a couple different reasons behind waiting to share. 1- I'm pretty set on the name and Eric is on board as well... but we could change our minds between now and birth. Or we may see her and decide that she just doesn't look like a "......" you know? So nothing is set in stone until she makes her arrival into our world!
2- The name has a sweet story behind it, actually, it has a couple cute stories that makes the name very dear to my heart. And it melts my heart every time I hear Eric say the name. Basically, I love the name! But you know.... people give their opinions too freely sometimes and they don't stop to think how negative or hurtful their opinion can be. Eric and I will be naming our daughter based on a name that we love, and a name that feels right. No one else can make that special decision except for mom and dad, right? Right. So if someone doesn't agree with the name we choose, it's not going to change our minds. But it will hurt my feelings. And it might turn me into a mama bear and I might say something hurtful back. (Ha ha, I'm kidding! I have pretty good self control :)) But when she is born, and we give her a name, no one is going to give their opinions about whether they like the name or not. Because she will be a sweet baby sent straight from heaven and everyone will be so wrapped up in her. She will be real. She will be our little "......" and no one would be able to deny that reality. Everyone will be so in love with her, regardless of her name. So until that moment comes, I'm going to let her name be a surprise for everyone else, and a special secret between me and Eric :)

Vegas {a "babymoon"}

Don't ask me why this lion was at a car show... but Eric was so excited to take a picture with it :)

Eric had been talking about going shopping in Vegas for the past couple months and we finally made plans to go! Of course Eric's work interfered with our plans and at first I was super upset, but then things ended up working out better than ever! Luckily we were able to reschedule our reservations with the hotel (which were non-refundable. I'm so thankful they were willing to work with us!) and I found out that Eric's favorite car show/auction was going to be in Vegas the same time we were. I bought tickets and surprised Eric with them when we got into Vegas. It was the best surprise ever... he was totally shocked!
We spent our first day in Vegas shopping, swimming, and stuffing our faces. We may have been in a food coma by the end of the night :) We ate at the Sugar Factory (amazing!) and Cheesecake Factory. We couldn't decide between 2 cheesecakes so we got them both.... and Eric blamed it all on his pregnant wife. At least I'm good for something, ha ha!
The next day we got up first thing in the morning and headed to the car show. Eric was in heaven! We checked out all the muscle cars and hot rods (seriously, we checked out every. single. car.) and then we went outside where we got to go for a ride in mustangs driven by professional race car drivers. It was so fun! And then we got to go sit in on the auction (we went to this same event 4 years ago but we weren't able to go to the auction) and Eric was a little giddy about this :) He always watches it on TV so it was an awesome experience for him to actually be in the room!
We had the best time together! This Vegas trip was the perfect mini getaway... just what we needed!

P.S. I'm still trying to fix the glitches with my blog. I need your input... are you still having trouble loading my blog or is it working better for you now?
P.P.S. I'm still totally shocked and flattered that I got to guest post on Janna's blog... so if you guys could go check that out I would LOVE it! You will fall in love with the girl just as much as I did ;)
