currently...

Be still my heart... everything about this picture is perfect!
Loving: watching Mia discover new things. Last night the air conditioning was blowing against our blinds causing the sunlight to flicker across the floor. I was cracking up as I watched my sweet baby slapping the ground trying to "grab" the sunlight. But the best part? She rolled and scooted across the floor to get the sunlight! She is figuring things out so quickly!!

Reading: I'm not reading anything right now :( I just can't seem to find the time to dive into another book. I have a million things I HAVE to get done this month, and unfortunately reading a book and neglecting everything else isn't one of them. Because you know... once I start a book, everything else is put on hold. Please tell me I'm not the only one??

Learning: that even when you put your best foot forward and give 100%, you still tend to get screwed over at times. I know that life isn't fair, and it's not meant to be all the time. But I do believe people should always be honest in their dealings! I guess I'm needing to learn to take what life throws our way, the good AND the bad, to take it in stride and trust that everything will workout in the end. As long as we are always doing our best and being honest. Sorry that's a little personal and a lot negative but hey! I'm just keepin' it real.

Trying to: be a better, supportive wife. I have a post coming about this soon, actually. But I am trying every day to be the wife that Eric needs and deserves!

Wishing: that we were still on vacation! Our first night home I asked Eric, "Why can't we get paid to be on vacations?" And you better believe I mean that as a career. If I had to choose that career path I would totally succeed ;) ha ha!

Excited for: Mia to discover more of the world, and to watch her hit her milestones. Right now, it's the simple things for me. When life isn't going as planned, I need to go back to the basics. Mia brings me such simple, heart-bursting joy and she reminds me that there is still SO. much. good. While it definitely tugs at my heart strings that she is/has grown so much too quickly, I appreciate how much this tiny human is reteaching me about life. We waited a long time for her to come to us, but it was worth the wait! I am eternally grateful for her sweet spirit that is keeping me grounded during this time!

I'm learning the "try your best and everything will work out" lesson right now, too. It's tough!

And baby girls do make life so much sweeter :)

I'm exactly like that with reading! I LOVE to read, but I get absolutely nothing else accomplished once I start a good book...however, I'm still always on the hunt for a good one!

I totally hear you about becoming a more supportive wife. I grew up in a family where being supportive lost out to well timed sarcasm. My husband doesn't seem to appreciate this as much as my family, so I am trying to change, but it's a long process!

Also, the visual of Mia trying to slap that the sunlight -- precious!

It's okay to be negative every now and then, because we can ALL relate! I can just picture her chasing the light. Too cute.

I love everything about this! Haha I'm looking forward to your post on trying to be a better wife, because since Elsie's come into the picture, I feel like the "wife" part of me has been a little bit neglected.
