This was a huge oops! We weren't supposed to catch any air, but Mia handled it so well! And I feel like I did, too ;)
A little blurry but so good! Alycia and I have a history of getting hilarious photos on the tube together!
Mia would go back and forth between driving the boat with granddad, and sitting on grandma's lap watching us play on the lake!
She's a little washed out, but had to share! Mia looooooved swimming in the lake! I think she prefers deep water over the shallow water than she can walk in. Gotta watch her like a hawk!
We FINALLY went boating for the first time this summer on Saturday! I've been dying to go for a couple months now but we just haven't had the time. As much as I love the mountains and the ocean, being on a boat in a lake is truly my happy place! I'm even happier to say that I think Mia is following in my footsteps!
As soon as we got to the lake, Mia made me walk in deep enough that she couldn't touch anymore and just kicked her legs and flopped around like a little fish, ha ha! Then she did so great when we got on the boat and strapped her life jacket on! I took her for her first ever tubing ride first thing, and she loved it! At one point I asked her if she wanted to be done and she yelled, "Noooooo!" We hit a rough patch and caught some serious air before my dad was able to stop the boat. Mia let out a little cry after the tube settled, and that was it! Such a brave girl!
Mia loved helping drive the boat and watching us play on the lake, until she lost all patience and wanted to be swimming again! We pulled over and swam with her for awhile, and she was in serious heaven! After swimming we fed her a little lunch and she was all settled down to take a nap when our trip was cut short :( While we didn't get to stay out as long as I wanted, we had the BEST time and I can't wait to go boating again (hopefully sooner than later)! I love sharing these experiences that I have always loved with Mia, and watching her fall in love with them as well!
