living the dream

6 years strong of producing that stupid fake smile... and I love him anyway :)

You know you've been married forever 6 years when your big anniversary celebration is dinner and a movie... woo woo! Ha ha! A few weeks ago Eric and I were discussing how we wanted to celebrate considering our anniversary was on a Saturday and we could have my parents watch Mia. I'm pretty sure they'd be okay if we never came back for Mia... so the options were endless! In my head I was thinking Vegas and a show?? When Eric excitedly suggests dinner AND a movie?! I mean... there really was no point to crushing his excitement so of course I said yes :) ha!
We actually had a really fun day that included so much food, because calories don't count on your anniversary! #duh We enjoyed lunch with Mia before taking her to my parents. We went shopping (still wishing we had shopping options like Vegas!), watched Captain America (I think I'm really liking where they are taking the story) and Thai for dinner (which included two sushi rolls and the mango sticky rice dessert. Plus ice cream after that, HA!). It was nice to just hangout with Eric and not have to worry about anything but each other! And to make year 6 even sweeter? We have a vacation planned for later in the year... just the two of us! I'm not really sure how I'll handle being away from Mia but I know that this will be SO good for us!

Congratulations on six years. I love the picture of you two in the previous post, the close up of you two on your actual wedding day. What a great picture.

We are coming up on our 15h anniversary in June and I feel the same as you...in some respects it feels like yesterday we were married and in other ways it feels like forever.

It's great to watch your family grow, glad you are all happy and well and celebrating. Take care,

Shauna

What a happy little way to celebrate, it sounds perfect to me! I love Thai mango and sticky rice dessert, it is amazing and one thing I miss so much about Thailand.

Also, yay for an upcoming vacation for the two of you! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time, but I can understand what it would feel like leaving Mia. I haven't even been on an over night trip without my little munchkin, I can't imagine a few days ... or longer. yikes! I should just be brave like you, I know it would be so good for the marriage.

A vaca sans baby!!! How exciting! We have yet to leave our babies, but I am thinking it is necessary ;) haha! Just for a night or two.

Happy anniversary! Cutest couple ever! Where are you guys going on vaca? I think that is great to get some time for yourselves! When we got married our little boy was 2 and I opted to not do a honeymoon because I felt guilty to leave..I think we really missed out on memories because of that choice :(. So I'm happy for you guys! XO

Happy Anniversary! It's it crazy how things change with kids?! Dinner AND a movie?? You want me to stay up until 10pm and we're not at home in our pjs on the couch?? LOL. My 30th birthday is in September and I'm already thinking of the "crazy" things I can do. Maybe have TWO drinks that night for dinner?? LOL. Hope you guys had the best day!!

Happy Anniversary... a little late! Right now it's so hard to imagine being able to ever enjoy another dinner or movie haha. It's funny how when you're dealing with a newborn it seems like you'll never have a life again... and then they grow way too quickly and you're able to take them out and have fun as a family.

Hope you enjoyed your night out with Eric! A vacation without Mia... I bet you'll learn to enjoy that too. :-)
