weekend review

This weekend was almost a wash. Eric didn't get home from work Friday night until 9ish. We both had to work Saturday, so we basically ate dinner then went to bed. I was SO glad to work Saturday because I got to see some of my favorite clients, and then I got a few visits from friends I hadn't seen in months! When I drove home I was sooo excited to finally spend time with Eric.... but he didn't get home until 8:30. The man has been working 20-40 hours over time a week and it is killlling me. (Do you like how selfish that is? It's definitely killing him more than me!) Spoiled wife alert! When he got home I was kind of bummed and kind of being brat (which I felt bad for pulling the needy wifey card on him, but I just couldn't stop myself.) Eric rushed through his shower then took me to Panda Express- anyone else out there love that fried goodness?? Then he took me to see The Vow when I'm positive that he would've much rather gone to bed. Best. Husband. Ever.
I definitely got sentimental while watching the movie. Of course I wanted to take away my bratty attitude I gave him earlier that night. I want to take away a lot of my actions that haven't been the best through our marriage. But I am the luckiest girl to be married to Eric. I get to try my best every day to be a better wifey. I get to love Eric for the rest of forever!

P.S. Eric totally teared up during the movie! How sweet is that? (I am definitely dead meat for sharing that on the blog....)

Andy works about 20 hours a week of overtime as well... it can wear on a girl! And one of the things I miss most while I'm eating healthy is Panda Express. How do they make that stuff so dang delicious? I would eat it everyday if I could.

I think to make yourself feel better when he is working so much you should take yourself on a shopping spree and spend $2 for every extra hour he works. I think he would definitely go for that;-) I LOVE Panda Express, but it makes me mad that they hide the fortune cookies behind the counter now. Probably my fault for taking fifty whenever I went...

Did you like The Vow?! I thought it was a 6...

sounds like you ended up having a fun weekend regardless. I totally cried like a baby during the vow. My hubby works crazy hours too, but always manages to make time for me so I can't complain :) Beautiful wedding pictures by the way!

That is a lot of overtime!

You two look beautiful (handsome for Eric) in your wedding pictures!

And I love Panda Express! I always get their orange and string bean chickens. YUM!

Great post! You have an awesome guy. Keith and I also went to see The Vow the week of V-day, and I liked it. I did feel like they should have shown more in the movie of after they got back together and had kids, etc.... It just seemed like they cut it short to me. And I am not complaining, anything with Channing Tatum is a WIN for me! :)

my husband has to work like that too..and sometimes..i have emotional breakdowns about it too! Totally normal, right?

I'm glad you had a good weekend! I loved the vow..I did too!

Kell said...

Um.. I pull that bratty attitude under the same circumstances. Like it's actually his fault that he works a lot and is tired.. I even realize how stupid I'm being but I can't seem to stop doing it. But I'm glad he did that for you!

Miki {Becoming What I Always Was} said...

I do that many times. Watch a movie and get overly emotional and then feel awful that I haven't treated Jared the complete right way. I wonder if boys ever do that.. probably not so much.

It's ok to have bratty moments. At least you're communicating. And he'll have his moments too soon enough if he hasn't already.

:( husbands working overtime is no fun.
Such a sweetheart, though for taking you out when he probably just wanted to sleep!
You guys are too cute!

My hubby works 72 hour weeks so I understand how you feel.

And pretty pictures!

I'm glad you had a great weekend even though it wasn't how you expected it to be. I really want to see The Vow so I'm glad to know you liked it!

I have bratty moments a lot too. Especially if Collin gets home later than I was expecting. And then of course I feel terrible about it later on, too. But like you said we have the rest of forever to be better wifeys. =)

Sounds like you had a good weekend despite everything. I love all the pictures!

What a nice husband! And the fact that he teared up during the movie is so sweet! I loved the Vow! Don't feel too bad, I think most of us wives out there get selfish and want to spend more time with our husbands when they work a lot, it should be considered a good thing though, right? We just love them!

Lyndsey said...

My husband cried in the movie and I didn't! haha I feel like they get way more emotional when they get married! I love it!

Love Panda Express...especially the orange flavored chicken! How sweet of your hubby to take you to see The Vow! I've been trying to get mine to go for awhile, but we just haven't made it. And we all have our not so best moments, no worries!

Kira said...

If I shared that my husband cried on my blog he would definitely tell me to take it off the second he saw it! He would also probably get mad. It's very sweet though :)

Lauryn said...

I saw it last weekend and it was a really sweet movie! You can't go wrong with Channing Tatum, Rachel McAdams and a love story!

What a sweet husband you have! It just means he knows how lucky he is :)

I've been wanting to see that movie!
It's hard, isn't it...to keep that "bratty wife" away. I get like that too when Matt works long hours...when he is only working so hard so we can have the life we want to live. I need to do a much better job reminding myself of that, and being thankful that he is so concerned about making sure we are okay financially. This post was a good reminder to me! Thanks hon! And I know Eric loves you no matter how bratty you are, because he is just awesome like that...I can just tell! :-)

We all definitely have those moments...and that's why Eric gets one of the best husbands ever card because he took you out for a movie instead of going to bed. That is so awesome!

I want to see that movie SOOOO bad! I wonder if my fiance will tear up...he totally did when we watched The Notebook!

I sooo feel bummed when the hubs comes home at, say, 10pm from work and I also have to remind myself that, while I was home making dinner or cleaning or whatever, he was still.at.work. Poor guys!

Lovely photos! For the honey & I, it's the other way around. He works 9-5 & I work too many hours! Sometimes I work an 80 hour week but I definitely try to squeeze in some time for him...He's forgiving when I don't.

You guys make a beautiful couple :)

You guys are such an inspiration as a couple. Wish we could go on a double date. :(
