I thought I was going to die...

...but I survived my first race! I ran my 10k (6.2 miles) in 57 minutes and placed 5th in my age group. Seriously, that is better than I was hoping for! My goal was to make it in under an hour, even if it was 59 minutes and 59 seconds :) I'm so happy with how I finished!
Side note: Eric decided the night before that he wanted to sign up for the race (mainly to get the shirt ha) and he hasn't been running in months. I love that crazy man :)
It was so great having awesome friends to run with and even better to have an amazing group to hangout with after the race! We are so so blessed in the friend department :)

If it looks like I'm dying here... it's because I felt like I was going to ;)

They had rootbeer (Utah+Oktoberfest= no beer. Just rootbeer!) which did not hit the spot for me at all! But we did win matchy socks! :)

It was a perfect day to finish my first race! Next on the racing agenda?? A 5k :)

P.S. Running hurts! I still don't know why people love it....

SO PROUD OF YOU! It's great that you did it and finished and had a great time! I think you needed something a little stronger than root beer though...

I'm excited for you!!! Running any kind of 5k, 10k, etc. is a challenging thing but fun at the same time. Congrats on your time, that's fantastic!

Congratulations on your run!!! You look so beautiful! And what an amazing time!! :) I'm really proud of you - how awesome is that to place 5th in your age group :) I ran a 10K last Dec and it was physically and mentally hard! One of the hardest things I have done. I think I'll stick to the 5Ks - they're challenging enough ha :) By the way, I'm proud of Eric too - signing up without any training - wow!

GIRL YOU DID IT! I'm so proud of us. And yes, it does hurt, and I often wonder why I like it. I think it gives me a high from all those endorphins flowing. haha But I go through phases where I love it and then sometimes I need a nice loooong break from it. : ) I'm seriously so happy for you that you did this! And I just want to thank you b/c I didn't tell many people I was doing mine, and I really felt encouraged by you the whole time I trained and ran. You were my personal cheerleader, so thank you. : )
