4th of July.. a week late

Eric is from a small town that is in the middle of nowhere :)  I love to go visit my in laws but other than that, I could care less to go spend time in that town.... except for the 4th of July.  Every year since we've been married, we'd go celebrate with Eric's family and have the funnest day.  Small town's really know how to put on a good show all day long!  There's a parade that involves tons of candy, booths and food at the park, bbq's, the best demolition derby's ever, and amazing fireworks.  It truly is the funnest and has a way of making you feel very proud to be an American.
This year we weren't able to go :(  Stupid work.  Being an adult is not the funnest sometimes haha!  We missed it SO much!  We are definitely going next year, and I'll be sure to take tons of pictures to show you all how great it is!  Luckily, my parent's came up to celebrate with us so we were able to spend the 4th with family and I was so grateful!  We had a bbq, watched fireworks, and just enjoyed catching up with family!
I am so grateful to live in America.  I know our country is going through a crazy time right now but there isn't anywhere I'd rather live!  I'm so grateful for the opportunities that Eric and I have.  I love my freedom and am so grateful to those who sacrifice their lives for our freedom!

The only picture we took on the 4th.  Does it get more patriotic than the Red Sox, TapOut, and Jordan's...all in one outfit? :)

p.s.  I've seen some bloggers go to balloon fests and get to see hot air balloons up close and I've wanted to go to one so bad!  Well there was a balloon fest 4th of July at 6:30am and I was so excited to go!  But when my alarm went off that morning I shut it off and went right back to sleep.  Dang it!!  I was so mad I missed it!
p.p.s.  I started a Pinterest but haven't pinned one thing!  What the?!  I really need to get on the ball and get addicted!
p.p.p.s.  What is google+ ?

I'm so glad that you guys had a good 4th, even though you didn't get to do what you normally do! :)

Cute pic!

I hear everyone talking about Pinterest, but I can't get into it, well that's a lie, maybe if I tried, I would! :) I opened up the website, looked at it, and then closed out of it! ;) Let me know how it is, if you get addicted. Maybe I'll give it another shot! ;)

Have a great week! :)

Google+ is supposed to be the new facebook but better. We'll see if it catches on or not! It has a thing called "circles" and you can create "circles" but the people in them won't know what circle they are in. So kind of like the limited profile thing in FB. Aww sorry you had to work and miss the fun 4th with Eric's fam!

yay! I will definitely be following you on pinterest! I know how you feel about the balloon fests... i've been desperately looking for one in Texas, but no luck so far. it's for sure on my list for next summer!

one thing about google + i've heard is that it usually automatically puts a bunch of your picture albums up for public viewing, and some people have tried to delete them from google + and end up accidentally deleting all the pictures from their blog! so i guess just make sure you don't delete your blog album from google plus!!

Welcome back, Courtney! Sorry you had to work, but I'm glad you still got to celebrate the 4th SOMEHOW. This was my first year ever not getting to see the fireworks, so I know how hard breaking a tradition can be. :/ However, you remembered the REAL reason for the holiday and that's great!! You've got me all intrigued now- this Pintrest thing seems huge, but I can't quite figure out how it's supposed to work yet, so until I do, I'm not getting an account- let me know what you think!! I love that picture, by the way. :)

Being a responsible adult is rough sometimes! I BARELY got off work to see my sister's mission farewell talk and farewell party in Colorado...it was SO much work to get it off for Christmas where I worked in Provo...ehhh...and what is a ballon festival? Never been haha.

Once you start pinning you will be totally addicted to Pinterest! My cousin got me started and I can't be stopped! That's too bad you had to miss the derby and celebration on the 4th. I've wanted to go to a derby for a long time. One of these days I will make it to one. Oh, I totally want to go to one of those hot air balloon things too. Someday I'll see that too. You rock!
