40 weeks

006
picture taken at 40 weeks 2 days

- Baby Girl has missed her due date! It was Sunday, December 16th :( I'm so ready for her to be here!!

- Still no stretch marks! I hope my belly can hold out until she comes, ha ha.

- I haven't talked about my weight gain because I think it's silly. Every body and baby is different, so I don't like the comparing of weight gain. And I'm not even sure the exact amount I've gained (I don't remember what my start weight was and I don't care to ask my Dr) but it's at least 30-35 pounds. One of my clients about had a heart attack when I told her that.... "REALLY?? THAT MUCH?!" she asked me, so shocked. "You don't look like you've gained that much!" Did I want to shave her hair off? Yes. Did I? No, unfortunately.

-  Other than needing a serious foot massage (ha!) I am feeling really good! Squished, but good :)

- I'm still a walkin' fool! Don't ask me why.... I'm convinced this baby won't come until she's good and ready (or I get induced) regardless of the amount of walking I do each day!

- As excited as I am to finally be able to hold my baby, I'm still super nervous for labor and delivery. Eric and I would appreciate any and all prayers for the safe arrival of our baby!! We can't wait to introduce her to you guys :)

Ahhhh any day now! I keep checking in because I've been assuming she comes every day and I'm out of the loop but no she's just chillin still. Maybe she'll be delivered by Santa! Good luck :)

You look so great! I gained about the same with my daughter, and no stretch marks. It feels amazing. I've seen and heard some horror stories about stretch marks so I was expecting the worst.
I didnt really look like I gained that much either. I think the comment was meant more as a compliment, because I see her point. Some people balloon all over and it's obvious they've gained a lot of weight, but you just look like you're hoarding a watermelon in your shirt.

I have no labor and delivery tips, because I had a surprise c-section, but if it comes down to that, it's not as scary as it sounds. I was kind of happy to have it go that way, but that may be the lazy part of me talking. All that pushing sounds like a lot of work :p One piece of advice I picked up from the hours of labor I went through before the section is to stay calm. When I just did the breathing and stayed relaxed, the contractions didn't bother me AS much, but the times I let it get to me it was much worse. They don't lie about the breathing part of labor haha.

Good luck with your delivery! Sounds like you'll be getting a pretty special Christmas present this year.

You look great. 30-35 pounds really isn't that much at all! Lots of prayers for baby girl to come soon and on her own. More prayers for a smooth delivery of course. You'll do amazing. So ready to see pictures of your little Christmas angel!

I've already gained 35 pounds and I still have four weeks left! Yikes! You look beautiful mama and that gorgeous girl of yours will be here before you know it :-)

you look great, seriously Ive been following and I am determined to not gain much like you! good luck!!

Oh dear. You're right, weight gain is different for everyone. But that is a healthy gain! I think it's funny though too because people seem to think that you gain 30 lbs of fat, they forget that that includes all the other goodies, including the baby! HAHA. Whatever. You look wonderful. Do they have a date that they'll induce you if she doesn't come by a certain date? Don't be nervous---half the battle is in your head! You'll be great.

Maybe a little Christmas baby!!! You look fabulous!

so excited for you! I would have loved to gain 30-35lbs. That's "normal". I gained.... 65lbs (gasp!) and it sucked but I have a beautiful baby girl and I'm back to (almost) normal. ha. She just turned one.

p.s. I've NEVER told anyone this, but if it helps, I went into labor a week early because of some pretty great sex.... ha. Just an idea... :) I was that pregnant woman ready to try ANYTHING to go into labor. Including eating 2 pineapples in 24 hours... didn't help. don't do it.

Kari said...

Eeek! Come on, baby girl!!!

(For the record-I've already gained 30 lbs and I'm 32 weeks and a few days. That lady would have a field day with me!)

You look fabulous!!

Afton said...

So when I was pregnant I googled what a normal weight gain for pregnancy was. It was 35-40lbs. I gained 45ish. So really you're in the perfectly normal range and your client was a little crazy.

Molly said...

Aw, you'll do great! It sounds crazy, but I promise the whole labor/delivery/hospital experience will be over before you know it. My biggest advice: make sure your HUSBAND breathes when you are pushing (or he could pass out -want to guess how I know?) and if you have a question or a concern about something, please please please don't be afraid to ask the nurses and your doctor. Best wishes!

No stretch marks? WHAT'S THE SECRET? You're cute. And pull this pregnancy thing off real good.

Psht I gained 40 pounds and delivered a less-than 5 lb. baby. Where is the justice there? No worries, though. Ten days later I've already lost 20 lbs. I'm convinced weight gain just varies crazily! Good luck! Keep walking!

You look great! And just know that delivery isn't as bad as everyone says it is. Your body was MADE to do this.

I had Kylie two months ago... and I don't even remember the pain. What pain?

Laurie @ Stylin Savanna said...

People are so rude sometimes.. honestly I'm not worried about my weight either my BIL said to me "don't worry your tiny, you won't stay fat" like dude. Are you kidding me? The last thing on my mind is weight. I just want a healthy baby. Yay for no stretch marks.. I'm hoping I don't get any but won't be the end of the world if I do. Can't wait to meet your little diva! Take care girly!

woman in a man's world said...

Don't feel bad at all! I gained 50lbs! It's just like you said, every body and baby is different. I hope she doesn't make you wait much longer :)

Jessie said...

If it makes you feel any better, I gained 45 and 50 pounds with each of my pregnancies and lost it all both times! (Well, I've still got 5 to go this time around but he's only 4 months old. There's still time.)

Labor is exciting!!! The pain is GOOD because you will be meeting your baby in just a few short hours. If you can relax all your muscles through each contraction, it really makes them a lot more bearable! Best Wishes!!! I'm excited for you.

courtney said...

you look great!!! cant wait to hear about when she comes :)

people seem to forget that preggers are extreamly hormonal and will slap you in the face with a salmon.

i got last week at church the "wow, you still have 2 months left?" yeah thanks alot for that, now go jump off a bridge. haha.

hoping it isn't much more time. prayers are coming atcha! :)

DANG GIRL!!! My hips have so many stretch marks it's like an agry cat when to town scratching them!

Haha so rude about that lady!

I totally identify with your last point. I'm so anxious and excited for her to be here but last night I started getting some regular contractions (which went away obviously) and I just about had a panic attack! haha! Hopeing everything goes well for you guys :)

Lucky! My daughter wrecked me. Stretch marks everywhere! But it's totally worth it :)

Shio Waline said...

Oh my goodness, that girl is retarded! You look amazing!! I gained more than 50lbs with my first(won't say cause it's A LOT!), so until you reach that I would not feel bad!! And yes, prayers to you and your baby for a safe delivery!! :)

You look GREAT! And 30-35 pounds is perfect in my opinion! My co-worker gained 60 pounds, so I think you did pretty dang good. ;-) I just wanna say that I know how torturous it can be when you pass your due date, so just hang in there! She'll be here before you know it. And don't stress if you end up being induced. Both of my babies ended up coming a week past their due dates after scheduled inductions and I had an amazing experience with them both. MERRY CHRISTMAS! I can't wait to see pics of your beautiful Christmas gift. :-) XOXO

Let's reframe that weight question as a compliment - you're a little person. Therefore even a little bit of weight is usually noticeable (when my husband gains 5 lbs you can't even tell. When I gain 5lbs it looks like 20 ;-))

Which means, if you gained 35 lbs, I would think you would be huge - but you're not! You don't look 35 lbs heavier - in fact, even before I read this post, I was thinking I was jealous of your tiny little butt in the 40 week picture!

lori said...

i agree with you on the weight gain questions... its silly to compare. and you look amazing and baby girl is healthy, thats all that matters! can't wait to "meet her"... hope she comes soon for you :)
