We had been hiking for an hour and a half by the time we reached this point... and we still had that huge, narrow mountain to climb behind me. (This picture is a bit deceiving, the mountain dips down before you start the steep climb using chains so that you don't fall over the cliff side.)
One view from the top of Angel's Landing.
Another view from the top!
I started my weekend Friday morning by dropping Mia off with my mom so that my dad and I could go hiking in Zion National Park. We hiked the famous Angels Landing, it was my dad's first time and my third time! I must admit, as hard as this hike is (the switch backs are killer, killer I tell ya!) this hike was much more pleasant than the last time I remember doing it. I was also 13 weeks pregnant and I was exhausted just laying on the couch... so I'm sure you can imagine how rough this hike was then! We started early in the morning and enjoyed the gorgeous views on this treacherous hike ;) We were lucky (or smart enough to start early enough) and didn't get hit with the heat until the very end of our hike! It was a beautiful day and I'm glad I got to experience this with my dad!
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing with Eric and Mia. We had zero plans and it was really nice to just chill at home! We set up Mia's baby pool and girlfriend was in heaven! I must admit that I was in heaven as well. I got to lay out in the privacy of my little patio and I didn't have to worry about a diaper for Mia... ha ha! She started out in a swim diaper, lost the diaper after doing her business (hello baby bum in a swimsuit... SO cute!) and after her nap I just stripped Mia down and let her play nakey in the pool. SO easy! Eric grilled our meals, we ate our weight in gelato and just enjoyed being together! Most of our weekend will be crazy this summer so we took advantage of the downtime all weekend long!

I'm SO on the fence about ever hiking Angel's Landing :) And I need a baby pool so bad. I just know my kids would be entertained for hours!
oh my lord! I haven never hiked a mountain like that so I cannot even imagine standing that close to a mountain.
I am DYING to go hike there. We have some pretty amazing places here in Oregon, just haven't explored yet! SO, so pretty!
