my trendy tot {hair talk}

When I found out I was pregnant, I would day dream daily about having a little girl. I'd picture what it would be like to have a real, live baby doll and play dress up with her daily :) I imagined all of the ridiculous hair bows and flowers the size of her head I'd make her wear (as I'm sure Eric day dreamed about having a boy and all of the hats he'd buy for him, ha ha).
I've surprised myself by actually preferring the small bows/flowers for Mia! I just think my daughter is so gorgeous that I don't want a big flower taking away from the focus on my baby's face, ha ha!

But as you can see... from day one I always have something on her head! Whether it's a headband from Miss Millie's Boutique, or a mini Jordan beanie (for Eric's sake of course) the fun never ends when adding accessories to Mia :)
The down side is that I don't have a lot of support from my family. Daddy (Eric) rips off the headbands anytime he thinks he can get away with it. Mia's grandma (Eric's mom) teases me about the headbands. Once, after we went out to lunch, my mother in law pointed out how shocked she was that Mia didn't have anything on her head! Ha! And Mia's other grandma (my mom) calls them "brain squeezers" and takes them off as soon as she sees Mia. *sigh* No one understands the price that comes with being a real, live baby doll. Luckily, Mia seems to be on the same page as me and doesn't mind the accessories ;)

p.s. Linking up with Megan and Kelly for Trendy Tot Tuesday!

Ahaha! My husband does the same thing! Anytime she makes any sort of noises, he assumes that she's tired of wearing her headband and takes it off! And I've surprised myself about headband styles, too! Thought I would like something completely different than what I actually bought when I was pregnant. Haha. Oops.

I'm with you. If I have a girl, headbands are NOT an option. They are required. Ha!

I say wear the headbands now while she's willing because before you know it, she'll rip them off and be eating them :)

My MIL asked if I was going to make my daughter (if I have a girl) wear ridiculous bows and head bands, even if she's bald. I said...I'm not going to glue anything to her head, but...yeah! I'm def going to dress her up in cute little bows and bands!

Hahaha, I can totally relate! I was the same way and everyone teased me. That's okay though, because YOU and HER know how cute she looks with them on.... that is for now at least. She'll rip them off soon. I remember the first time Tinley ripped her bow out. I was shocked and devastated... and then I got over it, haha! Nevertheless, Mia looks cute with and without them! I especially love the red flower one and the last one!

The hair bows are super cute!

I wish my niece would wear them. Every day I try to put something in her hair, and she rips it out 5 minutes later! :(

As long as she keeps them in, I say there's no problem! :)

One of our foster babies had an oddly shaped head so we took her to a specialist; of course, she had a huge bow on her head and of course, he made a comment about it. We told him she didn't leave the house without one (none of our foster girls do) and he said "well, I suppose you're strengthening her neck muscles, so I won't complain." From then on, that's what we would tell people when they'd nag us for having a bow larger than her head. Use that line on your mother-in-law next time!

Eventually she will be the one pulling them off!
